First Month Done Where did it go

Wow were did the first month go already, I am pretty sure the warm weather makes the time fly by but still hard to believe November is at the end already.

The weather has been pretty much the same week in week out, between 26-29 with a few days in the low 30's i am loving it and Dar has been enjoying it as well mind you she would probably prefer it to be more like 24 and 26-27 on the high side. Junior has settled into his Mexican routine sleep get up go to the pen ( Dog Run ) for the morning constitution or for a walk come home eat have a siesta or 3 then have supper out for another walk or trip to Pen couple more siestas one final trip late at night then sleep, i want his life. Mink she is like Dar i have my fur coat on can you turn the heat down and put the AC on, or looks at you with those puppy eyes and says can we have a beach day today.

We have been settling into our routines as well as been playing Pickle Ball Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. I and starting to get into golf again as well as try to get out 2-3 times a week and Darla is trying to play a couple times a month so staying very active. Our shopping trips to the Mercado Pino Saurez Market are always fun and is our go to for meat, fish, vegetables and fruit as well as some sugar candies. It is a one stop has all market it is an open air market but the meat and fish smell is everywhere you go, it is not for the faint of heart so will not post picks of it but will add a link in the bottom of the blog, so once on the website go to the galleria and click on the arrow on the right to scroll through the images.

Another season of winter baseball is on right now and we went to the game with Tim, Sue, John, and  Marg., it was a very exciting game unlike last years ( lazy old ladies as the media called them ). They started off hitting in the first inning and played well all game, in the end they snuck out a hard fought 3-1 win. And of course the mascots were fun to watch and just the antics in foul ball territory as the game was going.

Darla and i joined some other friends from back home Jamie and Carol who are doing their first winter snowbird after retiring and went to music poker at La Catrina and even though it was fun and great getting together with them our cards sucked and never came close to winning a taco or hot pepper. They are enjoying it and looking forward to getting together with them a few more times before we all head back home. We are also getting out every so often to some of the local afternoon music with friends and enjoying that as well

We finally made it out to Stone Island and had a great day with Tim and Sue our friends from Sundre we enjoyed the beach and played a few games of Bocce and had a great lunch and a couple ok a few pails of beer. The Mexicans are always so interested in the game and several stopped by watched and got to throw the balls to see how it worked, always fun seeing them smile and laughing as they figure it out. We have also had our beach walks but still need to do more as always so relaxing looking for interesting shells and or beach glass as well as listening to the waves crashing in and of course enjoying the sights and sunset.

Mazatlan is pretty quite this year and mostly due to the conflict in Culiacan area, we have seen most restaurants half full or less and some just no longer able to stay open. It is sad as most Mexicans in Maz depend on tourists so thinking it will be a tough year for many. We got together with the 4 couples we drove from Navojoa to Mazatlan with at a new restaurant to Dar and I and the food was very good and will definitely be going back. Traffic is really easy this year as allot less vehicle's on the road or i am just use to the unexpected shitshow of trouble coming from 27 different direction.

Tim and Sue invited us to join them and a group of friends for traditional US thanksgiving again this year was a great time seeing them all again not to mention how great the food was, if you came away empty was totally your own fault as tons of Turkey potatoes broccoli cheese casserole stuffing cranberries veggies and if that wasn't enough dessert had Apple Pie Two pecan pies pumpkin pie and ice cream. Not going lie was stuffed full and it was an early night turn in.

Last week in November we played in a fun pickleball tournament at our court and then afterwards a bunch of us went for an early lunch to the fella that has a taco stand at the courts and again the taco's did not disappoint, I had 3 tacos one was Fish ( Pescado ) another Octopus ( pulpo ) and lastly Shrimp ( camaron ) and man o man so good. Darla had traditional Birria soup it was made with a marinated meat and was excellent as well, i could tell as there was only a little broth left in the bowl. All in all it was a great day and tons of smiles all around.

Well have a great December and will get the next blog out sooner as had some issues getting pics to the PC from apple devices but have it solved now.
