Ok Now the Year is Gone WTH

Ok i thought our first month went by fast now it is 2 months and December seemed to go by even faster than November.

Where to start as it was a very busy month and January is shaping up to be twice as busy. As per usual we were playing Pickle ball 3 times a week and of course golfing 3 times as well. Some of our PB friends arrived in December and a few more to Arrive in January, still very quite here as so many snow birders never came this year due to the family squabble going on in Culiacan and area.

Baseball was on the schedule 3 times for us in December and we were blessed with some good ball and 3 wins, the team can make the playoffs if they win the last 3 road games as they have been hovering around 6-8 in the division, i say Hah Ha Hah but you never know stranger things have happened but they are playing one of the top teams in the division. The second game we went to we really never did get to watch much of the game as the mascots were at their best and worst so spent most of the night watching them, if they were doing half the stuff they did back in Canada they would be in serious trouble for a little while not to mention some people would be seriously offended. Hopefully the videos work in the pics below as i am not that technically savvy. 

In early December 8 of us went out on a catamaran to do some whale watching and yes Mazatlan is home to pods of Humpback whales for a few months as the females give birth to their babies and hang around till mid February before heading back up north to Alaska for the summer feeding grounds. We also saw a large School of Dolphins while we were out as they like to swim along with the boats, we also saw 2-3 large sea turtles as well as some Mobula ( flying ) rays was a great day on the water as we were out for about 6 hours.

Darla and I also played in another fun pickle ball tournament at the Vector courts as we were trying to raise funds to help out Taco stand friend as times are real tough for them so it was a great cause and fun time in the sun. The taco's were awesome and great time was had by all , how can you not 24 sunny and food.

As i mentioned earlier the restaurants are hurting so when we have been out wandering we have been stopping for a bite to eat as a cerveza. Easier to get tables by the windows and enjoy the sights sounds and ocean breeze. 

Christmas again this year was different and quieter as it is the hardest thing to get use to when away from the families as nothing like the kids been excited and scrambling down the stairs to see if Santa came the night before. Even though their is plenty of Christmas excitement around and lights decorations and of course tons of food just not the same without the little ones. We put up a few decorations and lights around the deck, have to keep the spirit up. Dar must not have been as good as me all year as i got 2 chocolate bars and she only got one under the tree. We went for dinner at Tim, Sue and Garths was another fantastic turkey dinner as Sue cooks a mean turkey and other friends from back home Marg & John, were there as well as friends Tracy and Miguel and Tim and Sues Neighbor Bob, was a great time.

New Years came quickly and we were going to get together with friends from PB Vern, Laurie, Shannon and Tom but unfortunately Laurie was not feeling well so was just the for us sadly but it was a good night as Dar cooked a Lasagna and Tom and Shannon had appetizer's Marlin Pate crackers pico carrots radish's and ceaser salad and bread for dinner was a feast for sure. We all made it to midnight to watch the fireworks and there were plenty unfortunately we did not see allot as they were far away this year and low in the sky.
